Coconut Club Wedding and Reception    posted 7/20/2013

I had no idea that my wedding could ever have been so amazing and well planned out! My wedding and reception were both held in the Coconut Club on the 21st floor of the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel, right in the heart of Waikiki. I had looked into over 30 different wedding locations and companies, but nothing gave me what I was looking for quite like this place did. I wanted to see it all... Diamond Head, the beach, the ocean, the mountain range, and the cityscape. From this view point, I had it all!!!

The staff was just amazing! Alyssa handled all my questions and walked me through the venue. Harry was our banquet manager and he was spot on! Our wedding started at 6 pm, and the pupu's followed shortly after. Our buffet was hot and ready right when I asked for it to be, and the guests could not stop talking about how great the food was! Several of them took doggy bags back to their rooms!! Shortly after dinner was served, we enjoyed the free fireworks show put on every Friday in Waikiki.

The DJ that they provided was awesome! He played our playlists straight from our IPOD and his equipment was top notch. I have to say not one thing went wrong, and I wouldn't have changed any detail from that day. Tiki's Bar & Grill in the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel truly put on an amazing night for us and I wish I could relive it all over again!!!

Nicole & Reggie reminded me why Hawaii destination weddings work for so many couples

This wedding ceremony and reception for Nicole & Reggie reminded me why Hawaii destination weddings work for so many couples.  They were from Rockford, Illinois and moved to Hawaii just before their wedding date.

Nicole started working with us a year before her wedding date.  With 52 emails and a few phone calls later, a year had passed and it was time for their big day!

They chose the Coconut Club as a private venue location overlooking Waikiki beach.  They used cream satin chair covers that were positioned in 3 angled rows. The back drop for the ceremony was the Pacific Ocean.

This was a custom-designed wedding ceremony and reception, where the bride incorporated her desired look and feel through custom made decor pieces. She brought in all the decor and made many of the elements herself. For the ceremony, 40 seats were set up on the Coconut Club lanai.

The cupcake stand and cakes were made by Paradise Pastries.

OAHU BUFFET

  • Island Taro Rolls Banana Vanilla Butter
  • Oriental Chicken Chop Salad Chicken Breast, Crispy Won Tons, Sesame Dressing
  • Pineapple Fried Rice
  • Garlic Basil Mashed Potatoes
  • Asian Stir-Fry Vegetables
  • Orange Togarashi Glazed Salmon Balsamic Glaze
  • Nalo Farms Basil & Mac Nut Shrimp Pasta Orecchiette Pasta, Parmesan Cheese,
  • Parmesan Chicken Rosemary Sundried Tomato Chardonnay Sauce
  • Hoisin Grilled Boneless Short Ribs Fork Tender Beef, Demi Glaze
  • Dessert: Lilikoi Cheesecake Graham Cracker Crust, Tropical Fruit

The children ordered from the Tiki's Keiki Menu when they arrived.

The cupcake stand and cakes were made by Paradise Pastries.

They included additional features that complimented their special day:

  • Rope lighting on the outer railing
  • DJ/Bose sound system & lighting
  • Sign-in table with photo albums
  • Candy bar
  • Drink tickets for guests

Mahalo note from a bride.

Michael, Tiare &  the Tiki's Event Team got this wonderful handwritten thank you note from Josh & Annalise.  The Seattle couple had planed their dream destination wedding back in February. Having a intimate wedding reception of 25 guests, on the Ocean Room Lanai.

For this setup we closed the Ocean Room lanai doors and build a long table, allowing space on the ocean side of the lanai for two high tops for cocktails and relaxing before sitting down for dinner.  We set the base table with white linen and the bride bought in her own custom color table runner and napkins. Glass vases filled with sand and shell and a candle also decorated the wedding parties table.

They choose these items from the Grand Tiki Buffet:  Kohala Mountain Green Salad, Fried Rice, Mixed Steamed Vegetables, Mac Nut Crusted Mahimahi, Shrimp Penne Pasta and Guava Glazed BBQ Ribs.

This Waikiki wedding reception had a Moroccan theme with beautiful flowers, linens, and decor by the ever so talented Designs By Hemingway.  The centerpieces were colorful Moroccan lanterns surrounded by bright roses and orchids.

The linens were exotically patterned with magentas, oranges and purples.  As the grand centerpiece to this Moroccan themed wedding reception Designs By Hemingway constructed an impressive a towering arrangement of roses, drift wood, and feathers that was a beautiful focal point in the reception.
