Grand Marshal & friends from Aloha Shriners spotted at Tiki's Grill & Bar!

Tonight was of the "SALUTE TO Youth Parade" with some 1,200 marchers
as part of the 2009 Hawai'i Invitational International Music Festival.
When the parade ended Pete Larson-Pontentate and Jack Webb with a few
other Shriners came in for drinks and dinner.

A few years back Tiki's Grill & Bar hosted a large fundraiser for the
Aloha Temple Shriners during our Tiki's grand opening week.

The Shriners of North America is an international fraternity of
approximately 500,000 members throughout the United States, Mexico,
Canada and Panama.

The Shrine's official philanthropy is Shriners Hospitals for Children,
a network of 22 hospitals that provide expert, no-cost orthopaedic and
burn care to children under 18. If you know a child Shriners Hospitals
might be able to help, call us toll-free at 1-800-237-5055 (in the
U.S.) or 1-800-361-7256 (in Canada) or in Honolulu, Hawai'i at
808-941-4466 AlohaShriners.org

The Shrine Fez(with the Scimitar, Sphinx, and Tiger talons) is a badge
of Masonic honor and shows that you are a philanthropist and have
donated several hours (or are about to) to the Shrine Hospitals for
children.

Shriners do a LOT of hard work and do fundraisers constantly.....in
fact, outside of meetings, if you see a Shriner wearing his fez, he's
probably in the middle of a fund raising event or parade.

***Historical note about Moana Surfrider hotel's first guests in 1901
were a group of 114 Shriners hosted by the local Aloha Temple
Shriners. They paid a costly $1.50 per night for the rooms. ***

Toa from American Gladiators paid a visit to Tiki's Grill & Bar - Hope he can stay for open Mic Night!

Check out his Lava Lava and Tattoo's! Our hostess are total going nuts
and trying to get the courage to ask him to stay for tonight's open
mic night. We are not sure what he plans to, do but it might be pretty
wild!

With his tribal garb and distinctive tattoos, he may conjure up images
of an island paradise, but facing him in battle is pure hell. Drawing
on the power of his ancestors, Toa has the strength of a thousand
warriors flowing through his veins, and he will never, ever show
mercy. - NBC Official Site

Mokoliʻi is a 12.5 acre, 206 foot tall basalt island one-third of a mile offshore of Kualoa Point, Oahu, in Kāne'ohe Bay, Hawaii, at 21°30′33″N 157°49′47″W / 21.5092°N 157.8297°W / 21.5092; -157.8297Coordinates: 21°30′33″N 157°49′47″W / 21.5092°N 157.8297°W / 21.5092; -157.8297. Geologically, it used to be connected to Oahu before erosion cut it off. It is also known as "Chinaman's Hat" for its likeness to the straw hats Chinese immigrants wore. Wedge-tailed Shearwaters are the only species of bird that nests here; previously there were a few.

Mokoliʻi is open to the public from dawn to dusk. On weekends it is somewhat a popular secret with tourists and locals. It can be accessed by kayak, boat, surfboard, or by swimming; depth soundings are only four feet on its west side.[1] This may be dangerous during any other time or inclement weather. The area is home to stonefish and sharks are often seen around the island, often in early mornings.
