Just to let you folks know that while on vacation in Hawaii this past June/July, we happened upon your bar the night before we headed to Hilo for the rest of our vacation and that night surely ranked near the top of the list for memorable moments .
Out of the blue a friend invited me to travel to your beautiful land and I am so happy I joined her. ....That night at the Tiki Grill was spectacular. There was a local Hawaiian band whose name Vaihi with a front-man of similar proportions to Iz who were helping some friends/family celebrate a birthday. My friend and I made a connection with the band/ group of friends and eventually we felt like we were old friends. The band was jamming so fine and as many of us got juiced up on your strong drinks the party got better and better. We had so much fun and felt so welcomed by both your excellent staff and the band that I felt like I had been living there all my life. .......my time in Hawaii has truly transformed my outlook on life after meeting so many wonderful,open and accepting people in your beautiful land. Every time we got to meet and talk with people who have been on the islands for generations, I was blown away by their generosity,wisdom and openness and the night at the Tiki Grill was a great introduction to the Polynesian/Pacific culture that we need more of back here in the states. Here's a couple of pictures of the Vaihi Band and please wish them a Happy New Year form Molly and I (Dave). My wedding reception was at the Coconut Club on 12/5/09. I just wanted to commend all the staff that helped with our wedding reception that night. Thank you to all the Santas, Ho Ho Hoe’s, Angels, Trees, Presents, Menorahs, Elves, Jesters, hockey players (?) and randomly dressed Christmas and holiday Stumblers that came out to celebrate the Third annual Stumblin of the Santas.
This was the biggest Stumblin Santa Event in Hawaii and we think they all had a pretty good time.
